For general English lessons we will use news articles/conversation topics and coursebooks to help improve your fluency. Lessons are fun and focused. IELTS Lessons Speaking We will look at all 3 parts. First we will work with part 1 (the introduction) and create a great first impression to the examiner. A lot of my students are nervous and the key is to really speak naturally while at the same time knowing what kind of questions you will asked (so there will be no surprises!). Practice is the key and we will look at lots of typical part 1 questions. Part 2 and 3 - I will give you extensive speaking practice with a wide and diverse range of topics . As you speak I will be writing notes in Skype about any grammatical/pronunciation problems you have. I will teach you higher level band vocabulary (depending on what score you need) to really impress the examiner and to achieve the score you need. Again practice practice..! Writing I will set you homework for part 1/2 and we can work through your essay in the following lesson. I like to identify what areas of weakness you have and show you the examiner band descriptors to help you see what is required to get your desired score. We will look at graphs/maps/diagrams and many part 2 questions. I will show you how to structure the essay logically with teach you essential sentence structures and vocabulary.
